Policy Enforcement / Parental Rights Pledge

I will work to ensure the district provides educational opportunities for students to acquire the knowledge, skills and personal qualities necessary for responsible citizenship and lifelong learning.
I will work to ensure the district provides Parents the opportunity to be active partners in their child’s education.
I will work to ensure the district provides open, clear and honest communications about their child’s educational environment.
I will work to ensure Parents that the district will follow its policy regarding the discussion of controversial issues and that any controversial issue must be tempered by the age and maturity of the students.

I will work to ensure Parents receive proper notification of ANY controversial issue their child is being exposed to and that NO individual will impose personal views on their child. As outlined in the district’s controversial issue policy.
I will work to ensure the district follows the controversial issue policy and that any and all controversial issues are age appropriate and presented in manner in which all sides are presented in a balanced, un-biased perspective.
I will work to ensure the district policy of allowing Parents the right to inspect any and all instructional material used as part of the education curriculum of their child and that Parents are updated immediately of any updates, changes or deviations from approved educational materials including the use of guest presenters and visitors is enforced in a clear manner.
